Foam Design is a fabricator of innovative products and specialty foam packaging located in Lexington, KY. For over 40 years, we have been the premier fabricator of Polyethylene, Polyurethane, and Reticulated Foams. Foam design is also a leader in planning and manufacturing components for aerospace and military applications. Our fabrication capabilities and expertise provide our customers with quality foam solutions. Foam Design is seeking an energetic, career oriented professional for an exciting opportunity as CFO/Controller.
The CFO/Controller directs the organization's financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship with lending institutions, vendors, shareholders, auditors and public officials by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Oversees and directs cash, budgeting, audits, tax, accounting, capital expenditures, real estate, and insurance activities for the organization.

Develops and maintains appropriate procedures and systems necessary to afford adequate accounting controls and services, to maintain proper records and to provide financial reports to management.

Ensures timeliness, accuracy and usefulness for financial reporting including monthly and annual income statements.

Acts as custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the organization.

Builds key relationships with financial institutions and monitors strategies to enhance cash position and maintain flexibility.

Manages cash flow and forecasting by developing a reliable cash flow projections process and reporting mechanism that includes a minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.

Directs and coordinates the establishment of budget programs.

Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures as well as all statistical and routine reports.

Manages preparation and support of all external audits by acting as key point of contact for all audits.

Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's policies and operations.

Directs the activities of the Information Systems Department and is responsible for the adequacy of the company’s systems and cybersecurity.

Oversees the Human Resources Department including analyzing employee benefits, ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining a department that is responsive to employee day-to-day needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises Accounting personnel, Information Technology Manager and Human Resources Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and 10 years related experience in a manufacturing environment. MBA and/or CPA would be preferred. Must have a solid understanding of GAAP, month end close procedures, costing, financial reporting and banking relationships. Strong strategic, analytical and planning skills as well as being an effective communicator at all levels in the organization. Proficient in Excel, Word, Access, and accounting and ERP software systems including experience in the implementation of ERP software.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of algebra, geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
