Plan, coordinate, install, and modify computer hardware and software systems to meet the needs of all locations of the company by performing the following duties.

The ability to Install, configure, update, troubleshoot, and maintain the following hardware, software, and policies.

    • Must have a working knowledge of MRP/ERP software, and/or, the ability/desire to become the company’s resident expert in this system. Foam Design currently use Global Shop as the ERP system and Copper as the CRM.


  • Policies

    • Onsite & Offsite Backup & Recovery (Disaster Recovery Planning).

    • Compile & write report documentation of program development and subsequent revisions.

Answer employee inquiries in person, via email, and telephone concerning systems operation. Diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems. Recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation.


Convert data from project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to help develop computer programs.


Analyze, review, and recommend changes to existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt programs to new requirements.


Contact outside vendors for programming support and refer major hardware problems to service personnel for correction.


Compile and write manuals and report documentation of program development and subsequent revisions.


Plan, coordinate, implement, and test security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure.


Attend technical conferences and seminars, and read trade magazines to keep abreast of new software and hardware product developments.


Perform duties in accordance with all applicable quality system procedures and standardized work instructions.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; and four years practical experience with manufacturing systems, ERP systems, EDI applications, Microsoft Office Suite, all versions of Windows OS, Web development and administration, MS SQL server, Unix/Linux administration, PC support and hardware troubleshooting and Comptia A+, Comptia Network.  Microsoft and Cisco certifications are a plus. Strong networking and hardware skills are a must. Prefer experience working in manufacturing.


LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, professional journals, and technical procedures.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively and courteously present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, vendors, and coworkers.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate and apply concepts such as discounts, fractions, interest, commissions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


SYSTEMS ANALYST SKILLS Skill to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ability to interpret an extensive variety of verbal and or diagramed technical instructions and deal with abstract variables to find solutions.
